As Chief Client Officer, Liz Murphy is responsible for Datatel’s largest division. There, she ensures clients receive exceptional customer service and support, and that Professional Services Team members are recognized as trusted advisors by consulting, developing, and implementing high quality organizational systems and processes to improve institutional effectiveness. Marketing functions such as Corporate Communications and Product Marketing also fall under Ms. Murphy.
Ms. Murphy began her Datatel career began in 1989 and throughout these 19 years she has served in various positions in Marketing and Professional Services. As Vice President of Marketing, she built a product management infrastructure for the company and increased brand recognition for the company. In October 2006, Ms. Murphy was appointed to Datatel’s Board of Directors.
Prior to joining Datatel, Ms. Murphy held service-related positions throughout the higher education community for more than 8 years. From fundraiser to association staffer to marketer and services professional, she has focused on addressing clients’ needs while balancing business requirements.
Ms. Murphy graduated from the University of Scranton, where she earned degrees in Communications and Philosophy. She remains involved as a member of the University’s capital campaign leadership committee. She continued her education and received her Master’s in Management from the University of Maryland.
Ms. Murphy is Vice Chairman of the Lupus Foundation of America and the Greater Washington Board of Directors. She is also a frequent motivational and industry speaker at universities and national conferences.
