In 1998, six colleges came together to form the California Community Colleges Datatel Users’ Group (3CDUG) in order to address their common issues and maximize the benefits of Colleague. Today the group consists of 45 institutions that meet regularly to find solutions to issues unique to California community colleges.
Central Ohio Technical College’s administrative software not only lacked the integration and overall functionality to achieve the institution’s overarching goals but was slated to lose vendor support in the not-so-distant future. The College needed to find a new system that would be fully integrated to improve data integrity and productivity; have a single, secure database that could be shared by four distinct campuses; and be able to support planned growth. After careful consideration, the College chose the Datatel Colleague administrative suite with Microsoft SQL Server.
When administrators at the College of the Redwoods realized the institution was in need of major technology changes, they began a search for a fully integrated enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. They wanted a single data source that would let users access information, track enrollment trends, apply and register online, and more – 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They turned to Datatel.
Among Illinois’ 40 community college districts, more than 30 percent have selected Datatel Colleague as their enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution of choice, and more institutions are opting to replace their homegrown and legacy systems with Colleague every year. Word of Colleague’s strong performance and ability to run on multiple database platforms spread throughout the state following Datatel’s first Illinois community college implementation in 1988. Twelve colleges later, Datatel is living up to its solid reputation for effectively responding to the needs of multi-campus institutions and community college networks.
With Datatel Colleague Continuing Education Solution, Oakland Community College’s Professional Education department could now offer instant enrollment, online registration, and payment capabilities, resulting in increased enrollment numbers and the capability to support 70 percent more program offerings.
Millsaps College had been using Datatel Colleague for its student, finance, and human resources data management for nearly eight years when administrators decided to implement self-service functionality that was critical to its mission. Datatel’s complimentary Action Planning service helped the College determine the most efficient, effective, and logical sequence of steps for achieving its objectives.
North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) needed a new enterprise resource planning system to improve the management and distribution of information across all 58 campuses. In 2000, NCCCS chose to implement Datatel Colleague and experienced significant results throughout all areas of the colleges including Financial Aid.
