Springfield Technical Community College Leverages Datatel WebAdvisor to Supplement Existing Faculty and Student Services
To meet ever-increasing needs, Springfield Technical Community College implemented Datatel Colleague and Datatel WebAdvisor. After a very successful launch of WebAdivsor to the college’s faculty, the institution performs a wide range of services online. After the faculty had embraced Web processing, the institution formed a pilot group of students to test-drive WebAdvisor. After watching their grading period shrink from five days to five hours, and propelled by the success of the student pilot program, the institution will soon unveil Web processing to its day student population.

Datatel Colleague -- the Solution of Choice Among Arkansas Two-Year Colleges
In early 2002, Southeast Arkansas College (SEARK) was ready to replace its outdated POISE data management software. The administrators were concerned about the future viability of Jenzabar’s POISE system. In December 2003, SEARK become the first two-year college in Arkansas to select Datatel Colleague to meet its unique business needs. That decision set into motion the addition of three more ex-POISE Arkansas institutions—all on different operating platforms—to the extensive Datatel client family.

North Carolina Community College System
The North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) desperately needed to refurbish its legacy administrative system. Comprised of 58 different colleges, NCCCS needed a system that would not only accommodate the diverse needs of its many colleges, but also connect all the colleges with one solution. NCCCS chose Datatel Colleague. The Colleague implementation across NCCCS represents the largest implementation of information technology in higher education. Currently all 58 of its colleges are now live on Colleague Finance and Colleague HR, and 21 are live on Colleague Student.

Fanshawe College Expands Technical Capabilities and Adds Web Services with Datatel Colleague
In the late 1990s, the administrators at Fanshawe College were facing some daunting technical issues. The college was using a homegrown student information system, and student enrollment was expected to double. The college needed a solution with seamless integration among its systems and with the Ontario College Application System -- an advanced reporting data repository -- plus Web capabilities for registration and services. With exhaustive due-diligence, Fanshawe College researched its options. In early 2002, the college selected Datatel® Colleague® to replace its existing administrative computer systems. Through their partnership with Datatel, the college has achieved date-driven, Web-based access to critical data, more efficient lock-step registration capabilities, online self-service functionality, and a new front-end interface to conduct courses via the Web.

Lambton College
Lambton College has earned an international reputation as a highly specialized institution. However, its 30-year-old homegrown student information system had outlived its usefulness. Built on now outdated technology, it had reached the end of its lifespan. In addition, the college’s financial system was slated to lose vendor support in 2004. Lambton needed an integrated solution that would improve efficiency, ensure data integrity, and reduce dependency on proprietary development tools and database management systems. Most importantly, they needed it fast. The college selected Datatel SmartPath, a solution that expedites migrations, enabling clients to be fully implemented in 12 – 18 months. In Lambton’s case, it took less than four months to launch Datatel Colleague Finance. Lambton College has streamlined its business processes to provide more efficient admissions, reporting, and data analysis, and it is enhancing its e-Learning and Web-based self-service initiatives.

Butte College Uses Datatel Colleague to Maximize the Power of Oracle
Butte College was quickly outgrowing its homegrown administrative system. The administrators at Butte College began looking for a new enterprise resource planning partner. One of the requirements was that the system had to run on an Oracle database. After soliciting Datatel and four other ERP vendors, Butte College selected Datatel Colleague and began the implementation process. Within 15 months the institution was live -- just in time for early fall 2003 registration. Almost immediately, Butte College realized a significant decrease in the time and manpower needed to operate their homegrown system.

Mid-South Community College
The West Memphis, Arkansas-based college originally relied on Jenzabar software to handle its administrative and business processes. A recent jump in maintenance costs without any marked improvements to the software, however, convinced MSCC to begin examining alternative technology vendors. The list of requirements was rigorous: seamless integration; strong advising capabilities; user-friendly Web access and services; exceptional reporting and data access; no table or term-driven limitations; support for the elimination of duplicated effort; and enhanced communications between departments. After an extensive, methodical evaluation of software from a number of top-tier vendors, MSCC chose Datatel Colleague. Using Datatel's SmartPath implementation approach, MSCC will be able to meet its rigorous implementation goals.

The College of Southern Maryland Achieves High Return on Investments and Greater Constituent Satisfaction
With Datatel Colleague and WebAdvisor in place, the College of Southern Maryland (CSM) has experienced a tremendous boost in staff productivity.The flexibility of Datatel’s WebAdvisor forms have enabled CSM to give faculty and students direct access to information that helps them complete many different financial, registration, and other tasks on their own. The college offers 28 different Web services for students, and 13 for faculty. With fewer students coming into the office to register in person, staff members are able to put more quality time into other college initiatives.
