Datatel’s enterprise architecture incorporates an embedded public key infrastructure (PKI) that uses the Java Cryptography Architecture integrated with Datatel’s messaging. Datatel’s messaging utilizes a standard set of communication protocols, core services such as user authentication, security, and data encryption, which are integrated with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). It enables all components of the architecture to communicate with each other, giving you the freedom to uniquely configure your system.

Datatel’s PKI infrastructure encrypts data transmission between the Datatel database and the Datatel application server, the administration device(s), and Datatel partner solutions. Datatel messaging uses certificates and public/private keys to ensure the privacy of the data between the various components of the system. The security infrastructure is fully compliant with standard requirements and compatible with the numerous best practices promulgated in the Payment Card Industry (PCI) Data Security Standard, whose stringent requirements must be satisfied to support a viable e-commerce system.
