Strong comprehensive business processes are the foundation of a successful administration at any college campus, positioning the institution to provide high quality services to students, faculty, and staff while at the same time achieving a positive return on investment. CIE provides consulting to guide higher education institutions through the development and implementation of more effective processes.

Change Management

Datatel’s Change Management introduction workshop and tiered consulting services are designed to address the critical issues surrounding organizational change, help place staff into a new frame of mind, and assist senior administrators with reviewing and re-designing job descriptions for their divisions.

Continuous Quality Improvement

Customized Strategic Services

The Center for Institutional Excellence engages the talents of a wide variety of industry experts who are capable of assisting institutions in many diverse situations. These services are highly customized and put together by the Center staff as needs arise. Examples of customized services include:

• Process facilitation for a two-year college to begin offering four-year degrees
• Facilitating a road map for a new curriculum design model
• Developing a student services policy and procedure manual

Plan Development

The core of a CIE planning engagement is a disciplined, collaborative effort to produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide the institution’s identity, mission, and purpose. Areas of focus can include retention, enrollment, assessment, technology, resource development, operations, strategic planning, and succession planning.

Team Development

Team development is a critical component to successful colleges and universities and is often overlooked.  CIE incorporates a strategy of working with teams to understand teamwork and empowerment that can be very effective in growing organizations. 

TracDat Effectiveness Services

With the Center’s services and the TracDat software from Datatel partner Nuventive, institutions are able to shape a culture of evidence, accountability, and data-driven decision-making that meets the demands of the industry. To effectively use this tool, CIE has created two specific engagements around TracDat and its use on campus:

• Strategic Action Readiness Service: provides a framework for successful implementation of TracDat.
• TracDat Project Assessment: provides an appropriate evaluation of the project and uncovers additional ways to maximize the investment.
