Technical Support

Datatel Technical Support provides top-notch technical support and tailored solutions for Datatel® clients, enabling IT professionals to optimally manage and support their institutional environments. Datatel Technical Support, staffed with technical experts from 8:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. ET, provides a variety of support plans and gives you direct access to an extensive library of self-service solutions, as well as the technical expertise of Datatel’s entire Technical Support Team.

Datatel’s experts can assist you with virtually any technical challenge, including:

  • Using Datatel software to maximize benefits
  • Troubleshooting software and Envision Tool Kit issues
  • Answering questions about file maintenance, database issues, and Datatel partner products
  • Assisting with loading software releases and updates
  • Providing guidance for more advanced training and assistance needs

Self-service

Datatel provides a comprehensive set of information to support and enhance the productivity of all user levels at your institution.

Clients have 24/7 access to our extensive knowledge base of support solutions—AnswerNet—which provides information on many of the flexible setup and configuration options available. It also provides answers and fixes to commonly asked questions and problems, while an advanced, state-of-the-art search engine facilitates navigation of the knowledge base.

We also provide a variety of documentation supporting the installation, setup, learning, customizing, and use of all of our products, including:

  • Online help for every form and field in our products.
  • Our exclusive Tech Doc Online provides administrators, developers, and power users with technical information on components such as forms, tables, and subroutines.
  • An extensive library of downloadable documentation provides information on installing, configuring, administering, and using all of our products in an easy-to-use, searchable PDF format.
  • Release Highlights provide information on new features and enhancements for new software releases. Every software update includes comprehensive information on what changes have been made, and how to install and implement them.

In addition, online community forums have been established by the Datatel Users' Group, in collaboration with Datatel, to facilitate communication between Datatel clients with similar interests. Any person with a valid login to the Datatel website can access the online community forums.
